Detroit Flow

Detroit Flow has a funny story behind it because the song wasn't even supposed to happen like this. My friend Troy was supposed to go to the studio with me and we were gonna make a song together, but he started acting like a b#$%* and left before we even got there. I was mad too, so I went to the studio anyway, took him off the song and made this tuff record as revenge.

Instead of wasting the session, I took the verse I already had for our song and another verse I had for a completely different song that I never finished. I put them together, used two different beats and let the beat switch in the middle. When the beat changes, I switch the flow with it. That's really where Detroit Flow came from.

So yeah, Detroit Flow turned into a diss track to Troy. I took that frustration and put it into the music. The original plan fell apart, but I wasn't about to let that stop me from making a hard song out of the session.

The mic video with Visual Paradise fits the song because there's not some huge storyline you have to follow. It's really about the rapping, the beat switch, the flows and the energy. And looking back, I think the whole story fits how I make music anyway. I don't like putting myself in one box. If something changes, I'll switch it up and make something different out of it.
